We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Fire & Safety Officer to lead fire safety compliance, risk management, and emergency response operations.
As a Fire & Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in implementing fire prevention strategies, conducting safety audits, and training personnel in fire safety procedures. You will work closely with facility teams, emergency responders, and security personnel to establish fire safety protocols that comply with local and international regulations.
This position is ideal for a safety-conscious professional with expertise in fire prevention, risk assessment, and crisis management, looking to make a significant impact in high-risk environments such as commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and corporate campuses.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with national and international fire safety regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, and local fire codes. Conduct regular fire safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards.
- Develop and implement fire prevention programs to minimize workplace risks. Ensure fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, extinguishers, and emergency exits are fully operational.
- Establish and lead emergency response protocols and fire evacuation drills. Train employees on fire safety measures, proper extinguisher usage, and emergency escape plans. Act as the primary fire safety officer during emergencies, coordinating firefighting efforts and employee evacuation.
- Conduct fire safety training sessions for employees, security teams, and facility management staff. Develop and distribute fire safety manuals, instructional guides, and workplace safety signage.
- Ensure fire extinguishers, hydrants, hoses, smoke detectors, and alarm systems are regularly inspected and functional. Investigate fire incidents, document findings, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Occupational Safety, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
- Certified Fire Safety Officer (CFSO), OSHA, NFPA, or NEBOSH Certification is a strong advantage.
- 3+ years of experience in fire safety, emergency response, or industrial safety management.
- Strong knowledge of fire codes, emergency response planning, and workplace hazard management.
- Proficiency in fire safety equipment inspections, alarm system monitoring, and evacuation drills.
- Willingness to conduct field inspections and site audits.
